SECTORS OF INTERVENTION


Education
Two major objectives were defined at the level of basic education, notably, improving the quality and supply of education as well as the governance of the education system.


In terms of achievements: - 37,200 contract teachers were recruited;

Thirteen thousand (13,000) teaching kits, tools and computer equipment and materials were distributed - six (6) thematic studies were carried out as part of Institutional Strengthening;

Fifteen thousand five hundred (15,500) private sector teachers have benefited from the clearance of subsidy arrears from religious (Islamic, Catholic and Protestant) and secular primary schools.......Read more
The important axes of the C2D in this sector have been: (i) to contribute to urban development; (ii) to improve the environment and living conditions of urban populations; and (iii) to raise the level of investment in road infrastructure, taking into account the important needs in this area and the need to promote socio-economic activities in rural and urban areas

Urban

In terms of urban development, the objectives are to rehabilitate and improve their road networks, clean up rainwater and open up neighbourhoods, while promoting the implementation of city contracts signed between the State and the Urban Communities....Read more

At the level of Culture

The objective of the C2D in this area was to contribute to the development of cultural industries and the preservation of Cameroon's cultural heritage.

Hence:
A mobile library bus was acquired and equipped with 2113 books, and staff were trained to run it;

The 2nd meeting of Cultural Enterprises and Industries (CI) was held;

The Contemporary Art Gallery of Yaounde has been set up: the first exhibition took place from 31 May to 31 July 2017 and received more than 1150 visitors;

Ninety nine (99) local technicians have been trained in the film industry.

At the level of rural development

The objective of the C2D was to contribute to the financing of the deployment of the National Participatory Development Programme (PNDP) in order to support local and regional authorities to make them partners and actors in sustainable local development.

  • In terms of achievements:
  • Three hundred and twenty nine (329) rural councils have each been equipped with a local planning tool and a framework for the concerted management of Public Development Aid.
